Grease and flour a Bundt pan or a tube pan. Alternatively, use a baking spray with flour for ease.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Step 3: Cream Butter and Sugar
In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the butter and sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes).
Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Step 4: Add Eggs
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. This step ensures a velvety texture.
Step 5: Alternate Dry Ingredients and Cream
Reduce the mixer speed to low. Add the dry ingredients in three additions, alternating with the heavy cream in two additions (beginning and ending with the dry ingredients).
Mix until just combined—do not overmix.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
