Ground Beef and Gravy Over Mashed Potatoes

Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:

Place the chopped potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash until smooth.
Stir in the butter and milk. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside and keep warm.
Cook the Ground Beef:

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and garlic, cooking until soft and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
Make the Gravy:

Sprinkle the flour over the browned beef and stir until fully absorbed. Cook for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
